Who can get an NHS flu vaccine?
The NHS recommends seasonal flu vaccination for specific groups including:
- Adults aged 65 and over
- Pregnant people
- Children (certain age groups in school and preschool)
- People with specified clinical risk conditions
- Residents of care homes and carers
- Frontline health and social care staff (employer route)
Most adult cohorts can get vaccinated from 1 October (some groups, e.g. pregnant people and children, from 1 September).
Who can get an NHS COVID-19 vaccine?
Eligibility is determined by the NHS programme and usually includes:
- Older adults (e.g. aged 75+)
- Residents of care homes for older adults
- People aged 6 months and over with a weakened immune system
Having a seasonal COVID-19 dose reduces your risk of serious illness over winter.
